Reflection

Wow. This project was a lot. I didn't expect to like an AICE project, but I adored doing this one. From filming to our group meet ups, this was the most schoolastic fun I've had in a WHILE! I learned so much about hands-on filming and editing, and most importantly, how to have patience with others. I will not mention...(Alejandro González).

This was a lot of fun to do, and I'm sad I have to close this chapter of my life, though it is a little bittersweet seeing how far my team and I have gone.

Editing of CCRs

Hello! Since Felipe and I both did Talk shows, the editing should have a similar result of an average Saturday Night Live or The Tonight Show. We accomplished that with quick camera angle changes, some background music, and most importantly, audience reactions. I found some audience laughter and clapping on YouTube and implemented it in our ccrs!

Production on CCRs

HELLO! After i set in stone that i wanted to do a talk show host for my CCR, Felipe asked me what i was going to do; i told him about the talk show, and he asked if we could be each others hosts. I figured that would be a great idea, we could kill two birds with one stone! So we met at my house and worked on a script for a little....Only for us to wing it mostly....

                                                                Script development
It took us a while to write the script, only because i got everyone
to watch an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Once we finished watching the episode we went straight to my room and started on both of our scripts. We talked about the target audience and about the conventions we used and challenged.

                                                                            Filming
Dude, it was hot. Like really hot...
We filmed on April 8th and that day had a temperature as high as 89°F and as low as 70°F. At first i was Felipe's Host, and since that one was our testing on, we took a little longer than anticipated, about 40 minutes. Once we finished with that, he put on a suit and i changed to less formal clothes and he was my host. this one was a little quicker, only being about 27 minutes.

CCR IDEA

Hello! When My aice media teacher first told us about the ccr, she gave us different options for what to do it of.

One if those options was talk host! And i immediately thought of The tonight show and Saterday night live, some shows i previously watched and loved!

I honestly think i could be an amazing talk host because i see a little of myself in Jimmy fallon, so this is definitely the ccr im going for!

We both have very bubbly personalities so i think if i decide to do a host show, itd be great!

Research and script for #4 question of CCR post

Hello! For question #4 (How did your production skills develop through the production), i have a couple of different responses I could do. For starters i never really enjoyed filming or even taking pictures before this whole project, but now I enjoy it. For some reason i developed a knack for good shots and angles, obviously im not the best, but my ideas and visions are definitely worth mentioning. But enough about me lets talk media!

                                                                    Script and dialog

When I first started i was a little lost, because a few of my instant ideas for this project, when my teacher mentioned it, were immediately banned, either they were to repetative, or clichĂ©. So I was definitely a little lost, until my teammate Felipe started talking about his idea for a car comedy movie! instantly i got ideas, but I didn't know how to project them, until we got down to writing the script. once felipe, ale and i started writing the script, i had a bunch of ideas and dialog that can result in a better production. one of those ideas was to make Jay a friend of Paulie instead of his rival. Overall, I definitely got better at that projecting.

                                                                Learning when to quit

After we finished making the original script and actually started to think about the two minute time limit, i realized we werent going to have the space to fit everything I wanted to fit into it. It was a little sad, but I got over it, and now I'm more than content with my finished product.

                                                                    Using a camera

Like I mentioned a little prior, once my team and i started filming, i started off a little slow in where and how I wanted it to look, until my friend Daniele showed me some tips and tricks. Now I feel more than confident in using cameras!

Overall!
For the CCR i should definitely mention all three of those improvements because they all impacted how the end result turned out, and I'm forever grateful for that.

Research and script for #3 question of CCR post

Hello! For the third question (How does your product use or challenge conversions and how does it represent social groups or issues), I would like to mention how in our film, instead of the typical race scene im most car films (like F&F), we decided to let all the build-up to the race die due to the main character stalling.

                                                           Conventions we used and challenged

In this scene, you can see how an average race scene builds up, starts, and ends. You can feel the tension between the characters and their rivalry. In our film, we had the build-up, but like I mentioned prior, we let it die when Paulie stalled.

How it represents social groups or issues

A social group we wanted to represents were Teenagers trying to fit in. In our film, you can notice how Paulie is very eager to fit into the world of cars. Details like going as far out to black market parts, him stalling a car like a total rookie, and even his reaction to stalling all show his desire to fit in.

We wanted to incorporate that because teenagers like myself are struggling to figure out where they belong, so we decided to show the rough patches in our film.

Research and script for #2 question of CCR post

Hello! For the second CCR question (How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be discovered as a real media text?), I talked about both film genres (Comedy and Action) and mentioned that the film includes Coming-of-Age and Cars.

For starters, as far as Comedy goes, it's a very universal film genre that can be enjoyed by all age groups. A study by Stevan Fallows in https://americanfilmmarket.com/what-the-data-says-producing-low-budget-comedies Shows that females prefer comedy films slighty more than males do.

But as far as it goes its still a very popular film genre loved by all ages and genders, so I think I would mention that.

                                                                            Action films

Using the study above, action films lean more to the male audience, but that doesn't mean that females don't enjoy it. Unlike comedy, action films do have a preferred age group demographic, being 15-25. While still being enjoyed by most, i still would have to mention that males prefer it more than females.

                                                                        The Subgenres
As far as coming-of-age and car films go, ages 13-24 are primarily targeted, but for car films, it goes beyond that to younger children, adults, and even die hard car enthusiasts.

Research and script for #1 question of CCR post

Hello! For the first CCR question (How did u intergrate technologies- software, hardware amd online in this project?), i will first need to gather all ive used thoughout the project!

                                                                                   Hardware!

For starters, I used my friend's Canon Camera EOS R100 to film! This carried us through most of the film, but near the end, we had to use Felipe's iPhone 15 Pro Max

            Software!
Secondly, my team and i used Premier Pro and Clip Champ in order to edit everything in!

    Online!
Lastly, for online, I found some foley sounds on both YouTube and Pixal Bay to add to the film!

FILM AND CCRS!!!

Film opening!  FILM! CCR 1!   CCR 1! CCR 2!   CCR 2! Thank you for everything Mrs. Stoklosa!
