With the sound projects now completed, i feel delighted with all that i learned in the process, whether it's editing techniques or sounds.
For sound project #1 I had to create a 1-2 minute audio clip of a story without the visuals.
For sound project #2 I had to edit in audio clips into a previously made film.
For Sound Project #1, I had to create a 1–2 minute audio clip that told a story without visuals. My team and I worked together to plan, collect, and edit our sounds. We decided on a story about a man lost in the jungle, which gave us the chance to experiment with nature sounds, footsteps, and suspenseful ambience.
During the brainstorming phase, we discussed what kind of atmosphere we wanted to create. Once we agreed on the jungle theme, we made an outline to help organize the sounds in order starting from calm jungle noises, leading to tension and ending with a sense of danger.
We used Clipchamp as our main editing tool and found many of our sound effects on Pixabay. We also created some Foley effects ourselves, like leaves rustling and footsteps. Working in Clipchamp helped us layer and adjust volume levels until everything felt natural and smooth.
Overall, I think we did really well with creating a realistic environment and telling a story through sound alone. Next time, I’d like to choose a setting with more sound options, like a city, since the jungle made it difficult to find unique or varied sound effects.

For Sound Project #2, I edited audio clips into a previously made film. This project focused more on syncing sound to visuals, balancing background music, and using effects to enhance the mood.
I applied what I learned from the first project paying close attention to transitions, background noise, and volume consistency. I also used Clipchamp again for editing because it made it easy to trim and time audio with the video.
One thing I did well was making sure the the sounds where perfectly synced, i was super duper happy with how it came out. However, I’d like to improve on adding more subtle sounds next time to make the environment feel less dead.
